CRC Concludes Zonal Engagements, Calls for Public Input

Kumasi: The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) says it has successfully concluded its nationwide zonal engagements, with the final session held in Kumasi on Friday, August 1, 2025. These engagements formed a crucial part of the Committee's public consultation process to gather views and proposals towards the review of the 1992 Constitution.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by Dr. Rainer Akumperigya, Secretary of the Committee, said as part of its final steps in the public consultation phase, the CRC would officially close all public engagements on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. This follows scheduled consultative sessions with the Council of State and the Trades Union Congress.

The statement encouraged the public to take advantage of the remaining window to submit written memoranda to the Committee. Submissions could be made electronically through the official CRC email: [email protected], the statement said.

The Committee extended its profound gratitude to the National Commission for Civic Education for its invaluable partnership in organizing the zonal engagements. The statement acknowledged, with deep appreciation, the support and participation of Chiefs, Tindaana, traditional leaders, Regional Ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Civil Society Organisations, Persons with Disability and the public whose contributions ensured the success of the engagements across the country.

It pledged the Committee's commitment to a transparent, inclusive, and participatory constitutional review process that reflected the aspirations and collective will of the Ghanaian people.
