Accra: A grand sendoff service was held on Sunday for Pastor Daniel Dogbey, who is leaving his position as the District Pastor of the Agortime Akpokope District of the Church of Pentecost. Pastor Dogbey, who started his tenure in the Agortime Akpokope District in August 2019 after being transferred from Ho Dome District, served the community for six years.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Church praised Pastor Dogbey as a man of integrity who commanded respect with his straightforwardness and simplicity. His ministry was noted for being driven by strong faith and trust in God. The church lauded his qualities such as commitment, determination, hard work, and humility, describing them as exemplary. The District Women's Ministry highlighted his wife's qualities of love, simplicity, and care for all ages.
Rev. Peter Adams, the SSNIT Flats District Pastor, delivered the sermon, urging Christians, particularly those in leadership, to remain committed to their work. He emphasized that commitment enables one to fulfill their mission and cited biblical figures such as Abraham, Moses, and David as examples of committed individuals used by God to achieve extraordinary feats.
Rev. Adams, whose sermon was based on St. Mark's Gospel chapter 2: 1-5, stressed the importance of hard work, stating that success is its ultimate reward. He advised Christians to maintain their faith even during challenging times, and to focus on their kingdom, community, and national duties, not for earthly rewards but for the heavenly crown.
In his address, Rev. Adams advised Pastor Dogbey to remain steadfast and look to God for guidance in overcoming challenges. He acknowledged the congregation's love and support for Pastor Dogbey and urged them to extend the same to the incoming pastor.
During the ceremony, Pastor Dogbey received gifts, including cash and a citation, as tokens of appreciation from the church and individuals. He is set to be transferred to the Eniehu District in the Swedru Area of the Church in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District.
