Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tamale Observes Feast of Corpus Christi

Tamale: The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tamale has celebrated the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The event highlights the central mystery of the Catholic faith, focusing on the belief that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist.

According to Ghana News Agency, this year's celebration saw various groups within the church donning their colorful uniforms to mark the occasion. Very Reverend Father Hilary Pogbeyir, Parish Priest of the Blessed Sacrament Church, delivered a sermon emphasizing the significance of the feast as a commemoration of the great gift of Jesus, which he left for humanity in the Eucharist.

Father Pogbeyir reiterated the Catholic Church's belief that Christ becomes truly present in the elements of bread and wine during Mass. He encouraged Catholics to renew their commitment to their faith in the Eucharist. He further explained that Christians are called to transform their lives, embodying God's love in their unique circumstances, similar to how Jesus represented God's love during his earthly life.

The priest underscored that the transformation in a Catholic's life is most effectively achieved through Christ, who is present in the Eucharist. He urged Christians to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly in supporting the poor and needy in their communities to receive God's blessings.

In addition to the religious observance, the church organized a get-together and outdoor games for parishioners following the Holy Mass, fostering a sense of community and fellowship among attendees.
