Berekum East MP Initiates Construction of New NHIA Office Complex

Berekum: Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament for Berekum East, has conducted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of construction for a new office complex for the Berekum office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

According to Ghana News Agency, the project is being funded by the government and is anticipated to be completed in a few months. This development aims to address space constraints at the current NHIA office in Berekum, which has led to congestion and has forced residents to travel to Dormaa-Ahenkro or Sunyani to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Elder Ampaabeng emphasized his dedication to improving healthcare in the Berekum Municipality, highlighting the importance of the new office in facilitating easier access to NHIS enrollment for the local population.

Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar, the Berekum Municipal Chief Executive, lauded the MP's efforts in advancing healthcare quality in the area. Mr. Isaac Adu Amponsah, the Bono Regional Manager of the NHIA, also expressed gratitude to the government for ensuring timely payments to service providers, which has enabled clients to receive quality healthcare services at accredited facilities.
