Ashaiman: The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), in collaboration with the Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF), has commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop for business owners and entrepreneurs in the Ashaiman municipality to enhance their operational skills and improve access to financial opportunities. The workshop has gathered approximately 30 small- and medium-scale business operators, aiming to strengthen the capacity of local enterprises and promote sustainable economic growth across the country.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Freeman Tsekpor, the Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), expressed his gratitude to the Venture Capital Trust Fund for initiating the training program in Ashaiman. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the government's commitment to support and empower small businesses to expand and create jobs within their communities. Mr. Tsekpor emphasized that the assembly would monitor and evaluate the performance of the beneficiaries post-training to ensure that the acquired knowledge translates into tangible results.
He encouraged participants to apply the lessons learned, network with other entrepreneurs, and work cooperatively to strengthen Ashaiman's economic landscape. 'The assembly expects every participant here to serve as an ambassador of change by improving your businesses and contributing to our local economy,' he remarked.
Mr. Christian Otu Teye, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Venture Capital Trust Fund, noted that the training aligns with the Fund's national efforts to equip business owners with the necessary knowledge and managerial skills to enhance efficiency and productivity. He pointed out that numerous businesses in Ghana require financial and technical support to stay competitive, which motivated the organization of such workshops across selected municipalities.
Mr. Teye stated, 'With the support of government, we believe our small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) will thrive, create employment opportunities, and help revive the local economy.' He urged participants to engage earnestly with the workshop and leverage the platform to network and explore partnerships that could boost their business prospects.
The workshop offers sessions on financial management, marketing, digital entrepreneurship, and access to funding opportunities.
