Ashanti Regional Minister Hails ECG for Quick Fault Fix

Ashanti: Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene has praised the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Adum District for swiftly fixing a dangerous electrical fault threatening residents.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Amoakohene took to his official Facebook page to express his gratitude, stating, "Thanks to the swift response from the ECG team, the matter has been attended to. I encourage feedback if the problem has been fully resolved." His post followed a public appeal on Facebook where a user tagged him, highlighting the fault and its risks to public safety. The Minister promptly alerted ECG for urgent intervention.

Mrs. Vivian Quansah, Manager of ECG's Adum District, expressed appreciation for the Minister's recognition. She noted that the acknowledgment reflected that the company's efforts were being noticed and valued. In response to the report, ECG replaced a worn-out service cable that was delivering shocks to individuals who accidentally touched the affected pole. Additional maintenance works were also carried out to ensure residents' safety.

Mrs. Quansah further commended Mr. Danny Young, the Facebook user who initially reported the issue and tagged the Minister, for his civic action. She encouraged the public to continue supporting ECG by reporting illegal activities, electrical faults, transformer vandalism, and other challenges to the appropriate authorities, as the company remains committed to providing safe and reliable electricity.

In a follow-up comment on the Minister's post, Mr. Young confirmed that the fault had been resolved and praised Dr. Amoakohene for his responsive leadership.
