Asante-Akim South: Mr Kwaku Asante-Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim South, has generously donated bags of rice and gallons of cooking oil to Muslim communities across the constituency as they prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr at the conclusion of Ramadan.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation is an annual gesture by Mr Asante-Boateng to aid Muslims in the constituency during the festive period following their month-long fasting. Imams from major mosques in various zones received the items on behalf of their congregations, ensuring they have the necessary provisions for the celebrations.
Mr Simon Agyeman, the Constituency Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighted during a brief presentation to the Juaso branch of the Ghana Muslim Mission that the donation was in line with Mr Asante-Boateng's regular support for the Muslim community. A total of 100 bags of rice were distributed to selected mosques at the MP's direction, acknowledging the significant role Muslims play in the constituency.
Mr Osman Musah, a prominent figure in the Juaso branch of the Ghana Muslim Mission, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Imam for the MP's continuous support. Beyond the annual Ramadan donations, Mr Asante-Boateng has also significantly contributed to the infrastructure of the Ghana Muslim's Basic School, including the construction of a new classroom block and another at the foundation level.
