Adaklu DCE Donates Food Items to Gbekor Senior High School

Adaklu: Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive, has donated food items to Gbekor Senior High School at a ceremony held at the school located in Adaklu Tsriefe. The donation comprised essential food supplies such as rice, cooking oil, gari, beans, and flour.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ameko emphasized his responsibility to support the well-being of the students by providing what he termed his 'widow's mite.' He remarked on the importance of ensuring that students are not left to study on empty stomachs as they wait for food supplies from the Buffer Stock Company (BSC). He highlighted that the school, which has transitioned from a day school to a fully-fledged boarding institution, had faced challenges receiving timely food deliveries.

Mr. Ameko mentioned that representatives from BSC had recently visited the school and assured them that their share of food supplies would arrive soon. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the relatively new boarding school and expressed his commitment to assisting the management in facilitating the school's operations smoothly.

Mr. Ameko pledged ongoing support to aid the academic success of the students and called for additional support for the institution from other stakeholders.

Mr. Alex Akwasi Akotey, the headmaster of Gbekor Senior High School, expressed gratitude to the DCE for the timely donation. He assured that the food items would be utilized to nourish the students and looked forward to fostering stronger relationships with district institutions to promote the school's growth and development.
