42-Year-Old Man Allegedly Abducted in Dambai: Community Demands Swift Action from Authorities

Dambai: Mr. Mohammed Fuseini, a 42-year-old man, was reportedly abducted on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, on the Residency Road in Dambai, leaving residents demanding swift action from security commanders and authorities.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Isha Fuseini, the wife of the supposed victim, recounted that the incident occurred around 2200 hours while they were riding home from their shop on a motorbike. She narrated that as they neared the Oti Regional Minister's residence, an oncoming vehicle with its lights on suddenly appeared, momentarily blinding them. Her husband stopped the motorbike to let the vehicle pass.

She further described that two men emerged from the vehicle, claiming to be police officers. They allegedly hit her husband in the chest, handcuffed him, and bundled him into a black pick-up vehicle before speeding away. Mrs. Fuseini said her husband was unable to speak or resist after being hit.

Initially, she thought the men were genuine security personnel and visited the Dambai Divisional Command to inquire about her husband's whereabouts, only to discover that the police were unaware of the incident. She suspects two individuals of Fulani extraction, who allegedly had a prior misunderstanding with her husband, of being involved in the abduction. According to her, the suspects had accused her husband of shooting them, claiming the bullets did not penetrate due to their supposed powers. Although the police arrested and investigated her husband, no evidence was found.

Mrs. Fuseini noted that she and her husband had spotted the suspected individuals on the same road hours before the abduction. Neighbors reportedly saw the suspects and a black pick-up in the area on the day of the kidnapping. Despite providing the suspects' names to the police on the night of the incident, no arrests have been made. She is appealing to the Inspector General of Police, the National Security apparatus, the National Intelligence Bureau, and other authorities to help bring her husband home.

Mr. Mawuli Atali, Dambai Assembly Member of Lakeside Electoral Area, revealed that he received a phone call about the incident while at Dodi-Papase Hospital for a medical check-up. Upon hearing the news, he rushed home and visited the police station, although he arrived late. He assured the community that he would return to the station on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, to follow up on the matter.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr. John Nchor, Acting Oti Regional Public Affairs Officer, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency. ASP Nchor assured the public that the police would release their findings soon, promising transparency and thoroughness in their investigations.
