Ketu north: The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has commenced nationwide with the Oral English paper, involving 1,679 candidates in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region. The candidates are from four schools: Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School (DZOSEC), Weta Senior High Technical School (WESTEC), Wovenu Senior High Technical School (WOSET), and Afife Senior High Technical School (ASSETS).
According to Ghana News Agency, the candidate pool consists of 874 boys and 805 girls. DZOSEC has presented the highest number of candidates, totaling 1,067, while ASSETS has the least with 55 candidates, including 36 boys and 19 girls. Mr Prince Agbemenya, Public Relations Officer of the Ketu North Education Directorate, reported that the examinations began smoothly across all four centers. He encouraged candidates to study hard and warned them against engaging in examination malpractice.
Mr Anthony Ocloo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of WESTEC, confirmed that the Oral English session was conducted successfully at his center. Some candidates from WESTEC and DZOSEC described the paper as manageable and expressed hope for the upcoming examinations.
