2025 Budget Targets Economic Growth for Makola Women and Okada Riders: Mahama Ayariga

Accra: Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has expressed confidence in the 2025 Budget, noting that it would bring hope and create jobs for the youth. Mr. Mahama Ayariga, also the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, while commenting on the Budget following its presentation by Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson on Tuesday, said the budget would stabilize the economy, create jobs, and create an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ayariga highlighted that the Budget will deliver solid reforms and transition the economy from what he termed 'galamsey growth to real growth.' He emphasized that the Budget is designed to benefit Makola women, Assembly Members, Okada riders, and girls. His statement, "This is a budget for Makola women, this is a budget for Assembly Members, Okada riders and for girls," was met with enthusiasm and laughter in Parliament, especially when he added a local saying implying significant change.

The Majority Leader assured that almost every promise made by the then NDC Flag bearer John Mahama during the electioneering period was being fulfilled in less than 120 days. He asserted that the NDC party, when in government, consistently fulfills its commitments and urged Ghanaians to trust in the Mahama-led Government to deliver on its promises.

The budget's presentation follows an economic dialogue organized by the Government last week, which gathered key stakeholders to address current economic challenges. It is anticipated that the Budget will promote macro-economic stability, restore good governance, implement structural policy reforms, support infrastructure development, and enhance productivity and economic growth.
