Sunyani: The Bono Regional Office of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a prominent waste management and sanitation company, has recently acquired five new skip-trucks to bolster waste collection and sanitation efforts across the region. This strategic move is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of waste management services provided by the company.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Benedict Awuah, the Bono Regional Coordinator of Zoomlion, unveiled the new trucks in Sunyani, highlighting their role as a vital addition to the existing fleet. The trucks are intended to facilitate better waste collection by serving as a backup, ensuring uninterrupted services across the Bono Region. The region has been strategically divided into five zones, with each zone receiving one of the new trucks to optimize waste management and collection processes.

The introduction of these trucks is part of Zoomlion's broader commitment to improving the environmental health standards in Ghana.

Miss Medina Doku, the Bono Regional Environmental Health Officer, also addressed the public, stressing the need for proper household waste management. She advised residents to avoid disposing of plastic and other solid waste into gutters and encouraged waste segregation and the use of designated refuse collection containers. Miss Doku pointed out that indiscriminate dumping of waste remains a significant challenge and called for collective efforts to address the issue.
