Accra: Victor Electronics, a leading electronics company in the Volta Region, has been commended by the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, for its generous contribution of ?30,000 to the regional 'Water for All' initiative. This project aims to enhance access to clean and safe water for communities throughout the region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the electronics company has also pledged an additional ?20,000 for the 2025 Volta Fair, which is scheduled to take place from November 26 to December 8 in Ho. During a courtesy visit by Victor Electronics' Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jacob Klu, and his team to Mr. Gunu's office, the company introduced their range of innovative products and announced an upcoming Black Friday promotion, offering discounts of up to 90 percent on selected items.
The visit also showcased Victor Electronics' commitment to corporate social responsibility, as they presented a large television set to the Regional Coordinating Council. Mr. Gunu praised the company's dedication to local development, highlighting this as an example of effective partnership between the private sector and government to advance growth and improve livelihoods. He emphasized that the donation would significantly aid the 'Water for All' project's mission to provide sustainable water solutions to underprivileged communities.
Mr. Klu expressed that the company's support was inspired by Mr. Gunu's initiative, recognizing the essential role of water in life and development. 'Water is everything about us,' he stated, encouraging other organizations, churches, and philanthropists to contribute in cash or kind to support the initiative.
He also reiterated Victor Electronics' commitment to community support, innovation, and empowering youth through employment and skills development opportunities. Mr. Gunu reaffirmed the Volta Regional Coordinating Council's commitment, under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, to supporting private sector initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, job creation, and sustainable regional development. He called on more businesses, both within and outside the region, to emulate Victor Electronics' example by partnering with the government to tackle pressing social and economic challenges.
