Accra: Mr Patrick Fiable, District Chief Executive for Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira (THLD), has embarked on a familiarisation tour to some four communities to officially introduce himself to the people and explain government programmes and the Assembly's policies to the people. Communities visited are Twifo Nsuaem, Pepekrom, Somnyamekorpe and Afeaso.
According to Ghana News Agency, the DCE stated that the tour aimed to identify problems confronting the people and initiate strategies to address these issues. Additionally, it was intended to bring local governance to the people's doorstep and obtain firsthand information about the various towns in THLD.
Some problems faced by the communities included poor telecommunication networks, absence of toilet facilities, uncompleted projects, insufficient teachers, lack of computers, and bad roads. Addressing the concerns raised by the Chiefs, the DCE mentioned that the issue of poor telecommunication network had been forwarded to the communication ministry and would be addressed soon. For uncompleted projects, he tasked the communities to submit a needs assessment to the Assembly for necessary action.
The DCE assured the Chiefs of Pepekrom and Nsuaem of the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound to address health challenges. He appealed to the Chiefs and people to unite and support the government in all spheres to achieve developmental goals. Mr Fiable also encouraged open communication, stating his doors were always open for views, opinions, and suggestions that could help the district develop.
