Berekum: Apostle Robert Kwabena Andoh, the Berekum Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in the Bono Region, has called on the Christian community to take a leading role in promoting environmental cleanliness and sustainability. He highlighted the importance of cleanliness as a core Christian value, encouraging the community to maintain their surroundings through regular clean-up activities.
According to Ghana News Agency, Apostle Andoh shared this message while leading members of the Berekum Church of Pentecost in a clean-up exercise aimed at cleaning the streets and gutters of the township. He noted that beyond spiritual development, the Christian community has a critical role to play in supporting government efforts towards national development. Good environmental sanitation, he mentioned, is essential in reducing the nation's disease burden.
Apostle Andoh reaffirmed the church's commitment to contributing to the nation's holistic development, urging other church areas to follow suit as environmental cleanliness aligns with the church's broader vision. He also called on traders and businesses in Berekum to avoid littering and the indiscriminate disposal of plastic waste, which often leads to clogged gutters.
During the exercise, the congregants focused on clearing blocked gutters and collecting plastic waste, covering the main streets of the township.
