Tamale: Madam Mary Tagba, Tatali-Sangule District Chief Executive, has appealed to sons and daughters of the area, both at home and abroad, to complement government's efforts in bringing sustainable development to the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Tagba, who made the appeal in an interview on the sidelines of the swearing-in of members of the re-constituted Northern Regional Coordinating Council, mentioned inadequate water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, poor health, education and security infrastructure as some of the pressing concerns in the area. She emphasized the need for direct involvement from private sector players, philanthropists, and individuals to help bridge the gaps.
She said: 'Currently, our Police Station is far below standard, and I want to appeal to our proud sons and daughters to help give it a facelift to enhance the fight against crime in the area.' Madam Tagba also highlighted the state of health services in the district, indicating that the hospital was in deplorable condition and required urgent support with medical equipment to serve the health needs of residents.
Additionally, she underscored the need for skills development for women and young girls, emphasizing that empowering them with the requisite knowledge and resources would help address poverty, deprivation, and malnutrition in the district. Madam Tagba expressed optimism that with the collective efforts of stakeholders, the district would overcome its development challenges.
