Accra: Samsalo Preparatory School, a leading private basic institution in Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern Region, has held its annual graduation and send-off ceremony, calling on parents and stakeholders to deepen their commitment to children's education. Held under the theme 'Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring Greatness,' the event drew a diverse audience including parents, teachers, traditional leaders, and dignitaries from across the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, the ceremony celebrated both academic and moral achievements, with 26 pupils graduating from various levels, including 13 Basic Six learners transitioning to Junior High School. Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Godfred Ofoe Ceaser, Eastern Regional Director of the School Health Education Programme, underscored the role of discipline, consistency, and hard work in achieving excellence.
Mr. Ceaser emphasized that excellence is the result of focus, effort, and the courage to push beyond one's comfort zone. He noted that the graduates' success serves as a beacon of hope and possibility for their peers, emphasizing that every child holds the potential for greatness in various forms such as academic performance, personal growth, extracurricular contributions, or quiet leadership.
Mrs. Vivian M. Owusu, Headmistress of Samsalo Preparatory School, encouraged the children to uphold the principles instilled during their time at the school. She emphasized the importance of discipline, respect, and perseverance as guiding principles for achieving greatness.
In a message to parents, the Paramount Queen of the Ningo Traditional Area, Naana Dugbakuor Dugba II, stressed that education is the most secure investment in a child's future. She highlighted the lasting value of educational investment compared to material inheritances.
The ceremony featured cultural performances, musical interludes, and awards for outstanding students, culminating in celebrations marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the graduates.
