Madina: Queen of Peace Basic School in Madina recently received a substantial donation of educational materials from the Rotary Club of Accra-Odadee and the Accra Novelty of Lions District 418 Club.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation included a variety of educational resources, such as one thousand exercise books, 30 core subject textbooks in Mathematics and Science, 280 lead pencils, 70 assorted storybooks, and 210 mathematical sets. The total value of these materials was estimated at GHS 18,000.00. The contributions were made under the leadership of Rotarian President Mother Teresa Brew and First Vice President of the Accra Novelty of Lions District 418 Club, Mr. Lawrence Akubori.
During the presentation, Mother Teresa Brew highlighted that September is designated as Rotarian Basic Education and Literacy Month. She explained that the clubs were not only donating educational materials but also organizing a Reading Clinic to help students develop a reading habit.
Madam Yvonne Agezoe, the Assistant Headmistress of Queen of Peace Basic School, expressed the school's gratitude for being selected to receive the donations. She assured that the educational materials would be utilized effectively to benefit the students. The event was attended by school pupils, staff of the Rotary Club of Accra-Odadee, and the Accra Novelty of Lions Club.
