Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has renominated two individuals for appointment as district chief executives for the Upper East and Upper West Regions of Ghana, pending approval by their respective district assemblies. A statement signed by Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, detailed this development.According to Ghana News Agency, the nominations were made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) (as amended). The nominees are Madam Faustina Akeyom Abulu for Kassena Nankana District Assembly and Madam Mary Haruna for Nadowli Kaleo District Assembly.
