One Person Dead, Nine Seriously Hurt as Tornado Hits North of Paris

Accra: A person was killed and at least nine more were badly injured after a tornado hit an area north of Paris on Monday evening. The Val-d'Oise prefecture reported early on Tuesday that the violent weather event in Ermont, in the northern suburbs of Paris, resulted in one fatality. Additionally, four people are in critical condition, while five others are in serious condition.

According to Ghana News Agency, local weather app M©t©o Express published footage capturing the tornado's destructive power, including scenes of three cranes being toppled by the intense winds. In response to the severe weather, the local prefecture announced that 150 firefighters, emergency workers, and police officers have been deployed to Ermont and the nearby areas of Eaubonne, Andilly, Montmorency, and Franconville to assist with emergency operations.

The tornado also caused significant disruptions to local infrastructure, leaving 1,700 households without power as of early Tuesday. Emergency services are continuing to work on restoring electricity and providing support to affected residents.
