New Ketu South Presiding Member Vows to Lead a United Assembly

Ketu South: Mr. Richard Seyram Nyavie, the newly elected Presiding Member for the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, has vowed to lead an assembly with unity towards development. Mr. Nyavie secured forty affirmative votes against sixteen rejections with one spoilt vote, constituting a decisive two-thirds majority vote from Assembly Members.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nyavie's election marks a new chapter in the governance of the Municipality, as he pledges to foster unity and lead a transformative vision for inclusive development. In an interview on Monday, Mr. Nyavie expressed gratitude to all assembly members for their participation in what he described as a smooth and successful democratic process.

He thanked every Assembly Member who participated, emphasizing that their commitment to democratic engagement is a collective victory. Mr. Nyavie highlighted the vitality of local governance in Ketu South, driven by principle rather than partisanship.

Mr. Nyavie emphasized his resolve to lead a united front, stressing the importance of collaboration among assembly members beyond partisan affiliations. He called for setting aside personal interests and political divisions to ensure the municipality's collective progress.

He urged assembly members to rise above personal interests and political leanings, focusing on delivering real impacts to constituents from Denu to Aflao, Klikor to Agbozume, and from coastal communities to inland towns. He reminded them of the trust people have placed in them and the importance of not failing their constituents.

Addressing the expectations of the people and his responsibilities, Mr. Nyavie described the position of Presiding Member as one of duty and purpose. He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, fairness, and development-oriented governance.

Mr. Nyavie, a teacher by profession, is serving his second term as an assembly member for Viepe Electoral Area. His election has been met with optimism by stakeholders who believe his leadership will steer the Assembly towards impactful local governance and community-driven development across Ketu South.
