Accra: The New Horizon Special School (NHSS) is preparing to host its annual Fun Day Games on Friday, May 23, 2025, at its premises in Cantonment, Accra. This event is open to the public and aims to highlight the skills, talents, and sportsmanship of Ghana's special needs community.
According to Ghana News Agency, the school emphasized the importance of promoting fitness and sports for all individuals. The event will celebrate all participants as winners, with each receiving a winner's medal. The Fun Day Games include activities such as filling of bottles, three-legged races, 50-meter races, sack races, lime and spoon races, walking, wheelchair races, relay races, football matches, picking of balls, musical chairs, and tug of peace, among others.
NHSS is a private educational institution catering to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. It offers special education for children aged 5 to 18 and vocational training for those over 18. The school is legally registered as a voluntary, non-profit, and charitable institution with the Ministry of Education. NHSS is committed to helping each student reach their full potential for a productive and fulfilling life.
