Sunyani: The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has called on its District and Municipal Directors in the Bono Region to enhance efforts in disaster management and prevention. Mrs. Fati Kine-Lam, the Bono Regional Director of NADMO, made this appeal during a meeting with the organization's District and Municipal Directors in Sunyani. The meeting aimed at strengthening NADMO's operations and contributing meaningfully to national development.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Kine-Lam underscored the importance of strengthened collaboration between NADMO and other agencies and stakeholders. She urged the Directors to avoid partisanship in their duties to effectively manage disasters. Emphasizing the need for proactive measures, Mrs. Kine-Lam stated, "We need to be up and doing in bridging the gaps in disaster management," and encouraged the Directors to maintain strong relationships with the Regional Office and NADMO personnel, irrespective of political affiliations.
Mrs. Kine-Lam highlighted the necessity of each personnel's contribution in disaster prevention and urged adherence to established procedures for addressing grievances. She assured that the government is committed to tackling challenges such as inadequate personnel and called on Directors to actively sensitize local communities. This is intended to empower people to take precautionary measures against disasters.
