MTN MoMo Reaffirms Commitment to Improving Online Financial Security

Dormaa-Ahenkro: Mr Razak Issaka Ali, the Chief Commercial Officer of the MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Limited, has re-affirmed the company's commitment to ensuring a more secure financial environment in the digital transaction space. He urged MoMo users and businesses to download the new MTN MoMo App, emphasizing that the app enhances the security of online business transactions.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ali provided this advice during an interview with the media in Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region. The occasion was marked by the company rewarding Mr. Emmanuel Ansu Gyeabour, a 21-year-old mobile phone repairer in the town, who was recognized as the 'one millionth MoMo App customer.' Mr. Gyeabour received a cash prize of GHC10,000 and other souvenirs from MTN MoMo.

MoMo is a service offered by MTN Ghana that allows users to manage finances, make payments, and conduct other transactions using their mobile phones. Mr. Ali noted that the MoMo App is easier, simpler, and faster to use, equipped with advanced security technology such as two-factor authentication. He also mentioned the re-introduction of additional security features, including biometric authentication, and emphasized the importance of regular app updates to protect customers.

Mr. Haruna Shaibu, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN MoMo, highlighted that the service currently has over 17 million customers, offering services ranging from wallet management to savings, investments, and payments. He stated that since its introduction, MoMo has made online transactions more convenient and faster, thus contributing to business growth and economic development. Mr. Shaibu also acknowledged the business community in the Dormaa Central Municipality for utilizing MTN MoMo.

Mr. Gyeabour expressed to the Ghana News Agency that many people in Dormaa-Ahenkro have embraced MTN Ghana and urged the company to improve network coverage in the area.
