Nkwanta South: Mr Joseph Awal Antwi, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, has initiated a partnership with BH Fertagro Ghana Ltd, a leading agricultural inputs and machinery company, to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in the Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, the collaboration aimed to improve the livelihoods of the local farmers through comprehensive support and innovative farming practices. Mr Awal highlighted that the partnership will provide farmers with access to high-quality seeds, innovative farming tools, and expert guidance tailored to their unique challenges and needs.
The leaders also discussed techniques such as crop rotation, integrated pest management, and sustainable irrigation methods to improve yield and soil health. They identified high-potential crops suitable for cultivation in the area's diverse climatic conditions.
BH Fertagro Ghana Ltd committed to donating fertilizers to cereal and tuber farmers, ensuring optimal growth and food security. 'This partnership is expected to empower farmers, especially the youth, to increase production, feed more, and earn more. By providing education and resource availability, the initiative aimed to foster economic development within the municipality and enhance food security,' said the MCE.
