Krachi East NADMO Supports Storm-Affected Schools with Roofing Materials

Krachi East: The Krachi East National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has supported two schools affected by severe storms in the area with eight packets of iron sheets. The organization presented five packets of iron sheets to Yariga No 2, a farming community Basic Primary school, and three packets of iron sheets to Adumadum Basic Primary school.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Prosper Kumah, a School Management Committee (SMC) member, stated that the donation was a relief to the schools, which were struggling to cope with the aftermath of the storms. He mentioned that the iron sheets would help fix damaged roofs, ensuring a safe learning environment for students.

Mr. Jonathan Dzunu, the newly appointed NADMO Director in Krachi East, presented the roofing sheets and emphasized the urgency of responding positively to the Municipal Assembly's request due to the serious threat the current state of the classrooms posed to lives. He announced plans to deploy a team from NADMO to conduct routine checks on public schools in the Municipality to ensure their safety and prevent them from becoming a source of danger to the students.

Mr. Dzunu assured the communities that his administration would work effectively to resolve issues affecting storm-damaged public schools in the area. Speaking to stakeholders, the director encouraged school authorities to have confidence in his administration's capability to address the challenges posed by the storms. He reiterated NADMO's commitment to supporting affected schools and ensuring that students could continue their education in a safe and conducive environment. He highlighted efforts to provide relief and support to communities impacted by disasters.
