Kpodo and Nutsukpoe Compete for Volta GJA Treasurer Position

Accra: Madam Ewoenam Kpodo, a Journalist with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), and Mr. King Freeman Xorlali Nutsukpoe, an Anchor with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Volta Star Radio, have filed their nominations for the position of Treasurer of the Volta Region Ghana Journalists Association (GJA). Mr. Nutsukpoe occupies the first slot on the ballot paper, while Madam Kpodo secures the second position after balloting on Friday, June 13.

According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Kpodo, the incumbent Treasurer, expressed gratitude to her media colleagues for entrusting her with the role of Regional Treasurer over the past three years. She seeks re-election to continue her work and plans to raise funds to complete the Volta Press Centre project. She highlighted her previous efforts in raising funds during Mr. Kanyi's administration and appealed for support in the upcoming election.

Mr. Nutsukpoe, with 15 years of experience as a broadcaster, believes his skills and connections make him a suitable candidate for the Treasurer position. He outlined his vision for the association, focusing on a digital payment system for membership, regular audits for financial transparency, fundraising, investment opportunities, and financial literacy workshops for journalists. He emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability and urged members to vote for him as the first choice on the ballot paper.
