Takoradi: The Kings Group of Companies, a furniture manufacturing firm based in Takoradi, has made significant donations of furniture and cash to various institutions and individuals as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The donation was conducted during a ceremony that also marked the official opening of the company's first ultra-modern furniture shop, Furniture Mall, located within the Takoradi Mall in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation benefited 12 institutions from the Western and Central regions. Among the recipients were the Holy Child College of Education, Rapid Deployment Forces (RDF) of the Ghana Police Service in Takoradi, Ghana Prisons Service in Sekondi, Good Shepherd Anglican JHS, Takoradi Technical Institute, and the Opportunities Industrialization Technical Institute. Other beneficiaries included the Catholic Special Vocation School in Sekondi, Moree D/A Basic School, Police Basic School in Cape Coast, Ghana National Fire Service at Asankragua, All Saints Anglican JHS in Takoradi, and Powerful Jesus Prayer Ministry.
Mr. Sylvester Anan-Mensah, the General Manager of Kings Group, disclosed that the donations amounted to GHS170,600.00, encompassing cash, furniture, and educational support to several institutions and individuals. Mr. Ekow Nkrumah-Bentum, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kings Group, expressed that the new Furniture Mall is aimed at providing high-quality and affordable furniture solutions for homes, offices, and hotels. The collections feature a range of designs from contemporary to classic, with an emphasis on sophistication, comfort, and artistic flair.
Mr. Nkrumah-Bentum encouraged the public to visit the Furniture Mall for a unique shopping experience that combines luxury and value, highlighting the company's commitment to shaping lifestyles and setting the standard for excellence in the furniture industry. He stated, "At Kings Group, we do not just manufacture furniture, we shape lifestyles and set the standard for excellence, and our products are designed to be stylish, functional, durable, and accessible."
Mr. Abdul Majeed Dokurgu, the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), praised the CEO for his humility, innovation, and consistency, which have been pivotal to the company's success over the years. He also commended Kings Group for its role in job creation and contributions to human development.
