Ketu South NDC Chair Supports BECE Candidates and Promotes ICT Education in Sonuto

Ketu South: Mr. Solomon Kumordzie, Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to education by supporting students at the Sonuto A.M.E. Zion Basic School and promoting ICT education in the community.

According to Ghana News Agency, as part of his annual educational support initiative, Mr. Kumordzie donated mathematical sets to candidates preparing for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at Sonuto A.M.E. Zion Basic School. The donation forms part of a broader effort that has already reached students at Viepe JHS, Amutsinu JHS, and Agavedzi JHS, all within the Ketu South Constituency.

In addition to the donation, Mr. Kumordzie visited the Charity Galley ICT Laboratory, an educational facility built in memory of his late mother, Madam Charity Galley. Located on the premises of the Sonuto A.M.E. Zion Basic School, the ICT lab was established to enhance digital literacy and provide students in the area with access to quality technological education.

While touring the facility, Mr. Kumordzie expressed pride in the strides made in ICT learning, recalling his own limited access to such opportunities as a child. 'The world is changing rapidly, and we must give our children every tool possible to thrive in the digital age,' he said. 'This lab represents the hope we have for their future, and the legacy of a mother who believed in education.'

He acknowledged the critical support of his younger brother, Mr. Agbeko Kumordzie, based in the United States, as well as contributions from friends and well-wishers across the globe, which have sustained the initiative. Looking ahead, Mr. Kumordzie revealed an ambitious vision to expand the project beyond Ketu South, aiming to provide access to ICT training across all regions of Ghana and internationally.

He reaffirmed his belief that no child should be denied quality education because of their location or background. 'We are building more than just a computer lab-we are building bridges to opportunity. Every child deserves a chance to succeed,' he noted. Teachers and students at the Sonuto school expressed deep appreciation for Mr. Kumordzie's continuous support, describing his contributions as timely and impactful.

Through his dedication to both academic and technological empowerment, Mr. Kumordzie is setting an example of grassroots leadership that puts education at the heart of community development.
