Ketu north: Mr. Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, has petitioned the Ministry of Food and Agriculture over the longstanding neglect of the Ohawu Agricultural College by successive governments. In his letter, Mr. Agbana urged the Ministry to prioritize the elevation of the College into a fully-fledged University of Agriculture-an idea that had featured in the manifestos of major political parties since 2016.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Agbana expressed that there is no better time to honor the promise of transforming this institution than during the next four years under President John Dramani Mahama's leadership. He conveyed his belief that the President has the capability and intention to deliver on this pledge.
The MP, who described himself as the voice of the chiefs and people of Ketu North, affirmed his commitment to leading the charge and undertaking all necessary advocacy to make the transformation a reality. He expressed optimism following a recent engagement with the Minister of Education, noting that the Minister's support gave him renewed hope for the long-anticipated upgrade of the college.

Ohawu Agricultural College, one of Ghana's oldest agricultural institutions, has over the years trained thousands of professionals but continues to face infrastructural and operational challenges despite repeated promises of an upgrade.
