Kazakhstan Offers to Facilitate Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks

New york: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed Kazakhstan's willingness to host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. He stated that his country is prepared to offer all necessary services to support potential negotiations between the two nations.

According to Ghana News Agency, Tokayev conveyed this offer during an interview with Kazakhstan's Tengrinews, emphasizing Kazakhstan's support for initiating high-level direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine. Although Kazakhstan is not positioned as a mediator in the conflict, it is open to serving as a neutral venue for discussions and providing what Tokayev described as 'friendly services' to facilitate the talks.

Local media noted that President Tokayev met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the ongoing 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. During this encounter, Ukrainian media reported that Zelensky expressed his willingness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at any location except Moscow, including Kazakhstan.
