Kadjebi GNFS Fire-Fighting Appliance Remains Inoperable, Urgent Assistance Needed

Kadjebi: The Kadjebi District Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has been facing operational challenges as its fire-fighting appliance has been out of commission since August 2024. This situation was confirmed by Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Prince Essel Junior, who serves as the District Administrator and Second-in-Command of the Kadjebi District Command, during an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

According to Ghana News Agency, ADO I Essel Junior revealed that despite an assessment by the mechanic from the GNFS Oti Regional Command, the cost of repairing the appliance is substantial and beyond the financial capacity of the District Command. ADO I Essel Jnr. highlighted that the absence of the fire-fighting vehicle severely hampers their ability to effectively manage emergencies, posing a potential risk to the district's safety.

The Second-in-Command also noted that Mr. Yao Gomado, the Member of Parliament for Akan, has advised the Command to formally request assistance. The Command has complied with this suggestion and is currently awaiting a response. In light of the pressing situation, ADO I Essel Jnr. has made an appeal to the Kadjebi District Assembly, as well as benevolent organizations and philanthropists, to provide the necessary support to repair the appliance and ensure it is operational before any preventable disaster occurs.
