Jaman South MCE Commits to Complete Abandoned Projects

Drobo: Mrs Siata Watara, the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region, has announced that the Assembly is prepared to resume construction work on all abandoned projects within the Municipality.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Assembly has recently completed the construction of the Anumgranu Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound, which had been neglected for years.

In an interview with the media at Drobo, the municipal capital, Mrs Watara expressed concern over the previous administration's decision to halt construction on many projects initiated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after taking power in 2016. However, she emphasized that both the Assembly and the government are committed to completing and handing over all abandoned projects, including those started by their predecessors.

Mrs Watara highlighted the government's prioritization of health and road infrastructure, stating that the Assembly will work to reshape major roads in the municipality. Improved road networks are expected to facilitate business growth and spur socio-economic development in Jaman South.

She also emphasized efforts to enhance healthcare services, aiming to make them more accessible to residents. 'We are also working hard to bring quality healthcare service to the doorstep of the people to eliminate the problem of accessing healthcare delivery in Jaman South,' she added.

Mrs Watara reiterated the vision of President John Dramani Mahama's government to ensure that everyone in the municipality has easy access to essential healthcare services, thereby enhancing their well-being and quality of life.

Additionally, Mrs Watara stressed the importance of good sanitation and waste management for health, urging residents to maintain clean surroundings and participate in monthly clean-up exercises organized by the Assembly. She explained that these exercises align with National Sanitation Day, promoting a cleaner environment and fostering a sense of community.
