Accra: The Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone (GCSEZ) project will be officially unveiled on October 21, 2025, in Accra. The project spanning over 21,000 acres is expected to cost $1.5 billion and create about 60,000 jobs.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, will lead the unveiling alongside President John Dramani Mahama, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Mr. Goosie Tanoh, Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour economy initiative, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association, traditional authorities, and international investors. The project, jointly managed by the Gomoa Central Development Trust and supported by the Ghana Free Zones Authority, marks a decisive step towards realizing Ghana's 24-hour economy vision.
The GCSEZ integrates five interconnected pillars: a 24-hour business district designed to support 10,000 businesses by 2032, an eco-recreational park targeting one million visitors annually by 2030, and organic and sustainable farming zones covering 2,100 acres. It also includes an integrated eco-industrial hub housing 200 factories and a renewable energy-powered crypto mining facility generating over $100 million annually.
The zone is expected to operate as a pioneering platform for AfCFTA digital currency trade, with blockchain-based systems designed to facilitate transactions across 54 African countries. The project aims to capture 30% of AfCFTA transactions by 2030, potentially adding $1.5 billion to Ghana's GDP.
The Gomoa Central Development Trust has secured long-term industrial leases on fully documented land, eliminating any legal uncertainties. Affordable housing for workers is planned within minutes of industrial operations, and youth empowerment programs would train one million coders to support the digital infrastructure.
The pre-launch event at the M¶venpick Ambassador Hotel Accra would provide attendees with exclusive insights into investment opportunities, infrastructure plans, and the strategic vision driving this unprecedented development.
