Keta: The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in partnership with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in Keta Municipality, has conducted a comprehensive fire prevention training for the Landing Beach Committees in the Volta Region.

According to Ghana News Agency, the training program, held at the Keta Municipal Assembly Hall, aimed to provide stakeholders with essential knowledge and skills necessary for effective fire outbreak prevention and management. The initiative was led by Mr. Lawrence Waedy, the Keta Municipal Fire Service Commander, who guided participants through both theoretical and practical aspects of fire prevention strategies and safety measures.

Mr. Waedy emphasized the interactive nature of the training, which facilitated a deeper understanding of fire incident causes and response strategies. He highlighted the training's importance for the Landing Beach Committees, who are frequently exposed to fire hazards and flammable premix fuel. The training is expected to reduce fire risk and enhance safety in communities with established landing beaches.

He underscored the training's focus on fire prevention and the severe impact of fire incidents, equipping participants with firefighting methods and the significance of a fire safety plan.
