Accra: The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has expressed deep sympathy over the passing of veteran broadcaster Mr. Mike Eghan and former National Media Commission Chairman, Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Eghan, aged 89, died on June 5, 2025, and will be buried on Wednesday, June 25, following a funeral service at All Souls Chapel, Lashibi Funeral Home, at 0700 hours. A forty-day memorial (Adaduanan) for Nana Gyan-Apenteng will be held on Friday, June 27, at the Forecourt of the Ghana International Press Centre, starting at 1100 hours.
In a statement signed by Mr. Kofi Yeboah, GJA General Secretary, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, the Association described their passing as a significant loss to the media fraternity. 'While expressing our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, we call on all members of the media fraternity to participate in the scheduled funeral activities for the two distinguished media personalities to pay their last respects to them,' the statement added.
