Ghana Badminton Team Triumphs with Two Golds and One Silver at 1st African School Games

Algiers: The Ghana badminton team earned two gold medals and one silver medal in the ongoing 1st African School Games in Algeria.

According to Ghana News Agency, in the badminton competition, Team Ghana secured a series of victories, with Adu Moslena Ama Korama and Quarcoo Racheal defeating Nigeria's Adekunle Feranmi Cynthia and Adekunle Oluwagbotemi Precious to claim gold.

The mixed doubles event brought further success as Ghana's Adu-Mintah Obapomba and Adu Moslena Ama Korama overcame Nigeria's Edun David Damilare and Adekunle Feranmi Cynthia to clinch another gold medal.

In the boys' doubles event, Algeria's Daoud Ayoub Rayan and Keddou Oussama took the gold medal while Ghana's Melchizedek Takyi and Adu-Mintah Obapomba secured the silver.

The achievements at the games represent a significant milestone for Ghana, marking their first medals at the inaugural edition of the competition. This success increases Ghana's total medal tally to six, highlighting the country's growing prowess in various sporting disciplines at the ongoing Games.

With several events still to take place, Team Ghana aims to build on this momentum and expand their medal collection at this year's African School Games.
