GFA Secures GPL Broadcasting Deal with Adesa Productions; Clubs to Receive GHC1 Million Each

Accra: The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has successfully entered into a partnership with Adesa Productions Limited (APL) for the comprehensive production, management, and broadcasting of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) for the 2025/2026 season. The collaboration was officiated at a launch event held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, attended by key figures from government, corporate, and sports sectors.According to Ghana News Agency, prominent attendees included the President of the GFA, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku; Vice-President, Mr. Mark Addo; Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah; Minister for Sports and Recreation, Mr. Kofi Iddie Adams; and Majority Leader of Parliament, Mr. Mahama Ayariga. This partnership with APL is viewed as a significant move towards transforming Ghana's top-tier league into a commercially viable and globally competitive entity.In his keynote address, GFA President Simeon-Okraku emphasized a new business model prioritizing players and football fans. He highlighted the asso ciation's commitment to creating a self-sustaining structure that benefits all stakeholders involved. The President announced that each of the 18 Premier League clubs would receive GHC1 million before the end of September, marking a commitment to club transformation and operational improvement.Funds from the partnership will also be used for stadium infrastructure enhancements, such as upgrading players' facilities, modernizing health centers, and enabling venues with technology for live broadcasting. Additionally, the GFA will introduce a merit-based prize structure to reward clubs based on their league performance, encouraging competitiveness and professionalism throughout the season.The GFA-APL partnership is anticipated to foster significant brand growth, attract stronger corporate sponsorship, and rejuvenate national pride in domestic football. As the 2025/26 season draws near, the Ghanaian football community eagerly anticipates a revitalized league experience.
