GETFund Warns Against Fraudulent Scholarship Solicitations

Accra: The management of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has issued a public warning, urging individuals to refrain from paying any charges or fees during the scholarship application or award process.

According to Ghana News Agency, GETFund emphasized that no person or organization has been authorized to collect money on its behalf for any matters related to scholarship awards. This caution comes in light of a statement released by GETFund's management, highlighting fraudulent attempts by certain individuals who are illicitly using the Fund's name to deceive and extort money from unsuspecting individuals by falsely promising scholarship placements.

The statement clarifies that these claims are entirely baseless and urges the public to disregard them. GETFund advises that such solicitations should be treated as scams, and any suspicious activities should be reported to the relevant security agencies or directly to the GETFund Secretariat.

The statement further asserts that GETFund will not be responsible for any losses incurred due to interactions with these fraudulent actors. It reaffirms GETFund's commitment to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity in all operations.
