GAF Warns Public Against Speculative Reports on Helicopter Crash

Kumasi: The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a caution to the public regarding speculative and unverified reports circulating in the media about the recent crash of a Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter in the Ashanti Region, which tragically resulted in the loss of all eight lives on board.

According to Ghana News Agency, the GAF emphasized that any conclusions drawn from opinions, perceptions, or conjectures at this stage would be premature and misleading. In a statement signed by Captain V. A. Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the GAF urged careful consideration in the reporting of the tragic incident, highlighting the need for respect toward the bereaved families and the memories of the fallen heroes.

The GAF acknowledged the significant public interest surrounding the accident and assured that thorough investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash. The Armed Forces stated that they are committed to collaborating with international agencies to bring closure to the incident.

The GAF expressed gratitude to the Government, various institutions, and individuals for their support and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. "May the souls of our patriots continue to rest in peace," the statement concluded.
