Sekondi-takoradi: The Two Garrison Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched its first newsletter, 'The Trident', aimed at serving as a communication platform and promoting the activities of the garrison within the military community.
According to Ghana News Agency, the newsletter was introduced to highlight the operational achievements, ceremonial duties, and everyday efforts of personnel within the garrison. Naval Captain Michael Cudjoe, Chairman of the Newsletter Editorial Board, emphasized the significance of the launch during the event held in Essipong, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis. He stated that 'The Trident' represents the unity of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, reflecting their collective strength and precision.
Captain Cudjoe, who also serves as the Command Operations Officer (COO) of the Western Naval Command, explained that the newsletter aims to inform, educate, motivate, and inspire military personnel. The publication will capture the activities, achievements, and challenges faced by the garrison, as well as share personal stories that define their service.
He highlighted that the newsletter is a platform for soldiers, officers, and civilian staff to feel connected and recognized. It will focus on operational achievements, training activities, welfare initiatives, social events, and individual stories of dedication and excellence.
Commodore Samuel Ayelazono, Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, noted the importance of having a dedicated newsletter to document the garrison's milestones, as their stories are sometimes overlooked when sent to Accra. He commended the team for their efforts and encouraged personnel to contribute to the publication to ensure it remains vibrant and inclusive.
