Fosu College of Education TEIN Chapter Inaugurates New Executive Members

Accra: The Fosu College of Education (FOSCO) chapter of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated a new batch of executives, led by Mr. Adams K. Mohammed, to steer the affairs of the network and enhance its appeal to all students. A total of 15 executive members were officially sworn into office during an inauguration ceremony held on the FOSCO campus. The event was themed 'Passing the torch, building on the foundation, a new chapter and legacy.'

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Theophilus Awartey, the outgoing President of TEIN, emphasized that the network aims to mobilize and empower students to engage in politics and advocate for the interests of the youth on campus. He highlighted TEIN's role in the 2024 general elections, where they mobilized students to be trained as party agents and participated in rallies, thereby increasing the NDC's visibility and popularity among young voters.

Mr. Awartey acknowledged the significant contributions of the NDC Assin Central Constituency and Central Regional Executives during his tenure and expressed his gratitude for the resources they provided to the network. He urged the new president to uphold the values of TEIN, recruit more youth, and collaborate with his executives to make informed decisions for the network's betterment.

Mr. Mohammed, the newly appointed president, committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders and enhancing TEIN's attractiveness as he fulfills his responsibilities. He called for support from party executives at the constituency and regional levels to realize his vision for the network.

Chairing the function, Mr. Jonathan Birikorang, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South, encouraged the students to pursue excellence, take on leadership roles, and focus on entrepreneurship and skills development. He stressed the importance of networking, building relationships, and connecting with like-minded individuals to unlock future opportunities.

The event was also attended by notable figures including Mr. Sylvester Amakye, DCE for Assin North District; Mr. Gariba Adams, Assin Central Municipal Chief Executive; Mr. Migyimah Shaibu Nurein, Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency; Mr. Stephen Kofi Baidoo, former aspiring MP for Assin South Constituency; and other high-ranking members of the NDC.
