Former Health Minister Agyemang-Manu Has No Link With Banhart Specialist Hospital-Management

Sunyani: The Management of Banhart Specialist Hospital in Sunyani has clarified that Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the former Minister of Health, does not own and has no association with the hospital, contrary to speculation on social media platforms.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Owusu Ansah, the Business Manager of the Hospital, addressed the rumors circulating on Facebook and X. He stated, "We have taken note of multiple posts alleging that Banhart Specialist Hospital belongs to Mr. Agyemang-Manu, also the former Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Constituency." Mr. Ansah asserted that the hospital is privately owned by a group of Directors dedicated to delivering quality and accessible healthcare across various regions.

Mr. Ansah further explained that Banhart Hospital began its operations in Kenyasi in the Ashanti Region a decade ago, aiming to provide quality specialist healthcare services. The hospital's success in Kenyasi led to its expansion to Kumasi and Sunyani. He noted that the hospital's modern infrastructure and high-quality services have attracted public attention, particularly during the 2024 election period, sparking baseless rumors about its ownership.

Mr. Ansah emphasized, "Mr. Agyeman-Manu has no ties in any form with any of the Directors of the hospital. Our directors have never ever met him in person through any other means." He highlighted the importance of correcting public misinformation regarding the hospital's ownership.

Additionally, Mr. John Baptist Kabo-Bah, the Head of Business Development, stated that the hospital focuses on strengthening local healthcare systems by creating jobs, fostering strategic partnerships, and investing in advanced medical technology. He informed the GNA that the facility remains committed to expanding services to meet the evolving health needs of the growing population, particularly in rural areas.
