Fifty-Five Senior High Students Participate in Tree Planting Programme

Oti Regional Minister: Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, Oti Regional Minister, has adopted 55 Senior High Students from Oti Senior High Technical and Yabram Community Day SHS to participate in the government's 'Tree for Life Restoration Initiative.'

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gyapong urged the adopted students to continue their involvement in tree planting and to engage their parents in discussions about utilizing family lands for planting cash crops such as cocoa, palm trees, and cashews during their vacations. He emphasized that this endeavor could lead to significant financial gains, potentially making them billionaires by middle age.

The group, consisting of 25 students from Oti Senior High Technical School and 30 students from Yabram Community Day Senior High School, thanked the minister for his words of encouragement and hospitality during their meeting at his office. The students appreciated the Minister's gesture, which they believe will motivate them to continue promoting environmental sustainability and conservation in their communities.

The students are expected to serve as environmental ambassadors, promoting the importance of tree planting and conservation in their communities. Through this programme, the Oti Regional Minister hopes to inspire a sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship among the youth in the area.
