Family Seeks Government Assistance in Locating Missing Relative in Tunisia and Italy

Elonyi: The family of Philip Boadi, a young man from Elonyi in the Jomoro Municipality, has appealed to the government and Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Nzema area to help locate his whereabouts and that of three friends who traveled outside the country last year in search of greener pastures.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Douglas Beyela, Spokesperson for the family, informed the media at Elonyi that Philip Boadi was formerly employed by the Ghana Dock Labour Company Limited in Accra. He decided to venture abroad along with three of his friends, who are also from the Nzema region.

The group reportedly departed Ghana for Tunisia, en route to Italy, in March 2024. Mr. Beyela shared that his last conversation with Philip involved a concerning encounter in Tunisia. "The last communication I had with my grandson on phone was that some people in Tunisia who were along the seashore at the time they were finding their way to Italy beckoned them to come in their direction," he said. Unfortunately, Philip's phone went off during the call, and further attempts to reach him have failed.

Since that last conversation, Philip's phone has remained off, and there has been no communication between him and his family. Mr. Beyela has urged the Ghana Embassies in both Tunisia and Italy to assist in tracing Philip Boadi and his friends, hoping for their safe return home.
