Ernest Kumi’s Commitment to Akwatia Development Unwavering – NPP E/R Executive C’ttee

Akwatia: The Eastern Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of Ernest Yaw Kumi, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued by Evans Osei Yeboah Tsooboi, the Eastern Regional Communications Officer of the NPP, highlighted Mr. Kumi's dedication to the development of Akwatia and his unwavering commitment to the ideals of the NPP.

The statement described the news of Mr. Kumi's passing as a significant shock to the Party, the people of Akwatia, and the nation. Mr. Tsooboi emphasized Mr. Kumi's role as a devoted public servant and reiterated the Party's condolences to his family, the chiefs, and the people of the Akwatia Constituency, as well as the entire NPP fraternity across the country.

Mr. Kumi had been engaged in a legal battle concerning the legitimacy of his electoral victory in the 2024 polls. Recently, the Supreme Court overturned a Koforidua High Court's contempt conviction against him. The statement concluded with a heartfelt farewell, "Akwatia Star Boy, rest well," wishing peace for Mr. Kumi's soul.
