ECG Volta Announces ‘Operation All Must Pay’ Revenue Mobilization Initiative

Accra: The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Volta and Oti Regions has announced the commencement of a comprehensive regional revenue mobilization exercise dubbed 'Operation All Must Pay.' This initiative is set to begin on Monday, July 14, 2025, and will be conducted for two weeks every month until December 2025. The goal of the operation is to enhance revenue collection, tackle power losses, and ensure equitable service delivery to all customers in the region.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of ECG, Mrs. Eunice Tweneboa Kodua, detailed that the exercise will focus on several key areas. These include the disconnection of high-debt customers, routine disconnections of defaulting customers, and the identification and registration of unregistered Self-Help Electrification Project (SHEP) customers. Additionally, the initiative will target the billing of active but previously unbilled customers, verification and service for paid-up customers, disconnection of illegal connections, and the recovery of technical and commercial losses.

Mrs. Kodua emphasized that 'this operation is part of ECG's broader strategy to ensure accountability, reduce losses, and sustain reliable power supply across the region.' She urged all customers to settle their outstanding bills promptly and utilize available payment channels such as the ECG Mobile App, bank transfers, and approved third-party vendors.

She also encouraged cooperation with ECG officials during the exercise, advising those in arrears to clear their debts to avoid disconnection. Mrs. Kodua reiterated ECG's commitment to delivering efficient and uninterrupted power supply, highlighting that prompt payment of bills is a shared responsibility necessary to maintain the company's operations and infrastructure.

The company further reminded customers that ECG staff involved in the exercise will be in official uniforms and properly identified to prevent any fraudulent impersonation.
