Accra: The Electricity Company of Ghana's (ECG) Training Centre has been honored with the 'Exemplary Performer in Technical Capacity Building - Public Sector' award for the second year in a row.
According to Ghana News Agency, the accolade was given to the Centre at the 5th National Governance and Business Leadership Awards 2025, held recently in Accra. Mr. Godfred Mensah, an engineer and Director of the ECG Training Centre, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition, stating that the Centre serves as a leading institution for developing technical and professional skills within Ghana's power sector.
Mr. Mensah highlighted that the Centre offers expert-led programs focused on power system planning and design, protection, control, network operations, and network equipment maintenance. He noted that the Centre is equipped with a power substation, demonstration field, and advanced testing labs for hands-on learning, and offers tailor-made programs based on demand.
He expressed gratitude to the organizers of the awards for acknowledging the Centre's role in supporting capacity building for professionals in the power sector.
