Tema: Ms. Ebi Bright, the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has revealed that her decision to enter politics was driven by a longstanding genuine desire to serve the Tema community. Ms. Bright said the aspiration to become a political leader in Tema was a deliberate and purposeful choice rooted in her commitment to development. She made this known during a staff durbar organised by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).
According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Bright expressed that her political journey in Tema over the past twelve years was not just about gaining a position but about her resilience and determination to represent Tema Central. She emphasized that her efforts were not solely for political gain but were fueled by her dedication to the community's progress. Despite previous unsuccessful attempts to win a parliamentary seat in Tema Central, she clarified that her current role as MCE is a testament to her unwavering commitment rather than political failure.
Ms. Bright assured residents of her open-door policy, emphasizing the importance of inclusive development and responsive leadership. She pledged to welcome ideas and collaboration from all sections of society, irrespective of political affiliation, to ensure that the needs of the people are met. She expressed gratitude to God and thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging his confidence in her ability to contribute to the region's development.
In her statement, Ms. Bright highlighted the significance of her appointment, viewing it as a realization of her dream to make a tangible difference in Tema. She conveyed her appreciation to President Mahama for recognizing her dedication and giving her the chance to fulfill her vision for the community.
