Accra: Beneficiaries of disability fund initiative in the Krachi East Municipality have been encouraged to make optimal use of the working tools and resources provided to them. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Sarfo Nketia, emphasized the importance of utilising these resources effectively to improve their livelihoods.
According to Ghana News Agency, the disability fund procured cassava grinding machines, roofing sheets, plastic chairs, fufu pounding machines and cash for 143 individuals to support their welfare. The initiative seeks to empower persons with disabilities (PWDs) to become self-sufficient and enhance their overall well-being.
Mr. Nketia urged the beneficiaries to use the working tools wisely and make the most of the opportunity. 'These resources are meant to empower you and improve your livelihoods,' he said. 'It's essential to use them for their intended purposes and make a positive impact on your lives.'
The Oti Regional Minister, Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, commended the government's initiative, stating that it would significantly improve the lives of vulnerable individuals. He encouraged other stakeholders to support PWDs and help them live dignified lives.
